天文學家對銀河系中心長達 26 年的觀測再揭高潮!由德國馬克斯‧普朗克地外物理學研究所團隊領導的研究宣布,愛因斯坦於廣義相對論所預測的重力紅移現象,首度從超大質量黑洞周圍的極端引力場驗證通關。

重力紅移(gravitational redshift),指光波或者其他波動從強引力場源(如巨大星體或黑洞)遠離時,整體頻譜會往紅色端方向偏移,也就是發生「頻率變低、波長增長」現象。

過去已有許多實驗結果支持重力紅移存在,但現在,科學家是第一次從銀河系中心的超大質量黑洞人馬座 A*(Sgr A*)周遭,觀察到一顆極接近且環繞黑洞運行的恆星 S2(軌道週期只約 16 年)紅移數據接近完美,愛因斯坦的論點再次承受住巨大考驗。
